We’ve all heard it said, “Now you listen to me!” The speaker is exerting authority over the hearer, in order to correct them in something they are in error about.
In the Bible there is a man named Job who asked a lot of questions about the situation he was in. His friends had all sorts of answers for him, but none were correct. Job himself was mistaken about the true reason for his condition. Eventually a man named Elihu came along and said:
“I am young in years,
And you are old;
That is why I was fearful,
Not daring to tell you what I know.
I thought, ‘Age should speak;
Advanced years should teach wisdom.’
But it is the Spirit in a man,
The breath of the Almighty,
That gives him understanding.
It is not only the old who are wise,
Not only the aged who understand what is right.
Therefore I say: Listen to me;
I too will tell you what I know” (Job 32:6-10).
We come boldly with these words. In a world that is headed for destruction, there has to be someone who rises up, in the name of the Lord, and proclaims the truth. This person does not have to be old in years to know what God is trying to say; quite the opposite, it seems that many times it is the young who God will use most powerfully. Who else can best speak to a generation except one who belongs to that very generation?
It is our intent here to speak about the things happening in our world from a biblical perspective, so that this world may hear and be saved. In a world being destroyed by lack of knowledge, we will bring forth the truth.
He who has ears, let him hear.
